MAS News – BC Arts Council Funding

The Malaspina Art Society thanks the BC Arts Council for $18K in funding through the Arts & Culture Resilience Supplement program. These funds are allowing us to plan programs for 2021 that will be safe and to provide online alternatives.

MAS relies on membership fees, grants, and donations to provide workshops, support an annual qathet Region Studio Tour, host exhibitions, and maintain our communications. 2020 has been challenging on many fronts and the Resilience Supplement will assist us in adapting to a changing cultural environment.

We will be hosting a virtual AGM in the near future to discuss our vision for 2021.
Become a new member of MAS or renew your membership for 2021 today. If you are interested in assisting us to move forward, please consider joining our Board of Directors. Contact us at malaspinaartsociety@gmail.com or use the contact form at https://artpowellriver.com/contact/.

Thank you,

We acknowledge the privileged position required in order to even begin thinking of challenging the world’s injustices – the challenge of making any choice. Thinking of this phrase and its reversal leads to multi-faceted interpretations.

We invite your interpretation, in any art form. Artworks that discuss our challenges, or celebrates opportunities, instigating discussion and ongoing, open-ended dialogue. Some of us are able to challenge, on behalf of those that can not.

Artists and writers who create in any disciplines and mediums, please email us your work, along with a short artist statement about the work submitted.

2D, 3D, digital, text, website links, video files, audio files, performance pieces, social practice, art book, assemblage, collage, installation, outdoor works, online-only, mail art, poetry, essays, prints, maquettes, ceramic, etc, etc – all proposals welcomed.
